CSR – migrating 6 Microsoft Dynamics databases into 1.

The client had inherited a wide array of siloed CRM systems, accounting for some 950,000 contact records and 600,000 customer account records across 6 different databases. Many of these siloed systems had customers in common, and some of them took in streams of additional information from existing ERP solutions. In some cases, this resulted in an enormous number of duplicates across the whole organisation—for example, in one instance, over 1500 duplications of what was suspected to be the same individual record had accrued over time.

CSR wanted to identify which records were duplicates and to consolidate these systems in the pursuit of coming as close as possible to a single, unified view of each customer. This single customer view would then be foundational to marketing campaigns, business intelligence and more focused strategic capabilities for the company’s future.

They needed to engage a data partner who would be capable of taking on such a complex project with many moving parts and stakeholders. They also needed a data partner who would be flexible enough to take on any unforeseen challenges that might crop up in the process.
